Asafoetida Powder

தூள் பெருங்காயம் – Asafetida Powder – 100 gms.

Asafetida powder is Thool Perungayam in Tamil and is available in 100 gram Poly pouches.

It is used as a food additive in most South Indian Dishes like Sambar, Rasam, Koottu, Poriyal etc,. This is the powdered form of cube asafetida which is considered to be more concentrated than the regular powdered ones available in the market.

It should be should be stored in air tight containers and can be used as it is. For recipes should be roasted in little oil and used.
